BATTLEFIELD 6 - ROAD TO medic glory

UPDATE #3

10/31/25

The launch of season one, paired with the rollout of the RedSec battle royale mode, has resulted in the biggest, most important week for Battlefield 6 since launch. When the new content went live, the Steam player count spiked to 485,396, and that doesn’t even account for concurrent players on other platforms. Impressive to say the least! My performance this week was modest by comparison, but nothing ventured, nothing gained, right? This week saw a modest increase in my revive count, new rank upgrades, a switch to my primary weapon choice, and my first foray into the battle pass and RedSec!

Stats At A Glance

Current Rank: 35

Revives: 1,819

Kills: 835

K/D Ratio: 1.128

Career Score: 441,780

Revive Status: Progress is Progress!

As painful as it can be, sometimes schedules just don't line up with meaty content drops -- this week happened to be one of those times. So, while I didn't achieve career-high revive numbers like last week, I still made some meaningful gains. With 290 successful revives executed, I brought my total up to 1,819, which means I am now 36.38% of the way towards my goal of 5,000 revives! Though my weekly revive numbers are down, I choose to look at the glass half full. I'm inching closer and closer to 2,000 revives, which I am confident I'll be able to surpass by the next update.

As for challenges, I've continued to focus on the support path. Currently, I'm on challenge #3, which tasks the player with providing smoke and resupply support. There couldn’t have been a better time for me to arrive at this challenge given that the meta in Breakthrough has shifted to using smoke bombardment as a tactic for advancing objectives. Overall, challenges continue to feel tough but fair, and a fun way to make sure players use the entire toolset available to them.

M.O.B.G. Only In Battlefield Moment of the Week: Cutting it Close In Blackwell Fields

The trend has finally been broken! With the first two battle highlights both taking place in New Sobek City, I was beginning to think of that map as something of a good luck charm. This week, the magic took place on the new Blackwell Fields map, where I joined the attacking Nato team in nailing an exciting last-minute win! We were about 45 troops thin when we received the ominous "Defeat is Imminent" message from our commander. We were gridlocked with the Pax Armata defenders at Charlie. Much like week one's moment of the week, this fight came down to a battle of the medics, as our fierce group of support soldiers stepped up to revive our fallen comrades to keep our numbers from dwindling to zero. This allowed us to push the defenders out of the warehouse and secure Charlie with just 20 troops remaining. Talk about down to the wire! The last 10 minutes of this match felt like a game of tug-of-war that could have gone either way at any moment. Thankfully, victory favored the attackers for a truly epic moment to remember.

Loadout: IT’S Time to Switch Things Up

Despite going back and forth between weapons in my first few weeks with Battlefield 6, I've largely stuck with LMGs given the proficiency bonus they provide to the support class. However, as I've become more comfortable with the game, I've begun to feel that LMGs may not be the best weapon type for my playstyle. I prefer mid to close-range firefights, taking down targets with pinpoint accuracy and a high rate of fire. So, I decided to switch over to the assault weapons -- for now, at least. So far, I've really connected with the SOR-556 MK2, as its decently rapid rate of fire and high mid-range accuracy have resulted in a growing success rate during firefights.

RedSec and Battle Pass First Impressions

Years ago, I jumped into Call of Duty Warzone, and after about 10 minutes of gameplay, I decided it wasn't for me. That just goes to show that if you love a game enough, you'll give all of its components a fair shake, because I knew from the get-go I would be jumping out of my comfort zone to give Battlefield 6’s battle-royale a try. After having spent the past three weeks completely immersed in the base game's large-scale multiplayer, jumping into RedSec felt nothing short of jarring. This isn't a knock on the game mode itself; it's just different. However, where the base game's multiplayer can be enjoyed solo or with a team, RedSec's tight, squad-based, objective-focused gameplay shines the brightest when you squad up with your friends on comms. In fact, I would say this is a requirement to have a real chance at winning, or to have the best overall experience with it. With that said, given that I'm currently the only one in my gamer group playing Battlefield 6, I don't see myself playing too much of this mode -- but when the squad comes together, I'll certainly be revisiting it!

While I feel quite enthusiastic about RedSec, the same can't be said for the newly implemented battle pass system. One of the reasons I stuck with THE FINALS for as long as I did was because its battle pass was accessible, fair, and never at any point felt like a pay-to-win system. Unfortunately, Battlefield 6's battle pass doesn't quite earn the same praise owing to how it locks key progression items behind a pay wall -- not even earnable through just playing the game. This is really discouraging to me as someone who rarely ever sticks to multiplayer games in the long term, and wants to dive into an experience where progression feels open and fair. Sadly, I feel that in order to protect the fun within my Battlefield 6 experience, I'll have to relegate the battle pass to the back burner and stick to my self-imposed medic goals to feel the sense of progression I'm looking for.

Onwards and Upwards

For both its good and bad parts, I'm happy to see Battlefield 6 finally in full swing. By the next update, I hope to surpass 2,000 revives, and maybe even solidify which weapon type feels most at home for me. Are you enjoying RedSec? Are you happy with the battle pass? Let me know in the comments!

update #2

10/25/25

The road to medic glory continues as the Battlefield 6 train storms into week two! You may be thinking that the dust is finally settling now that the game's record-breaking launch is behind us. However, with 245,508 people playing at 7 A.M. as I write this, it's safe to say that Battlefield 6's honeymoon period is turning into a honeymoon marriage. Okay, with housekeeping out of the way, let's get down to business. In my first update, I discussed how, despite still learning the ropes of the support class, I had made a fast start towards my goal of 5,000 revives. Where last week saw a fast start, this week would best be described as lightning-fast progress. I’ve more than doubled my overall revive numbers, reached a new all-time high single-match revive count, reached an all-time high KD ratio and single-match kill-count, and experienced an Only in Battlefield Moment that was somehow even more epic than last week's incredible Breakthrough comeback!

STATS AT A GLANCE

Current Rank: 31

Revives: 1,529

Kills: 728

K/D Ratio: 1.145

Career Score: 369,245

Revive Status: Making Gains at Light Speed

I can’t pinpoint where my dedication to the support medic class comes from. In RPGs, despite liking the idea of being a dedicated healer, I always end up going for tank-based classes. But in Battlefield 6, there’s just something cathartic about being THE GUY to give my teammates a second chance on the battlefield that outweighs the satisfaction of striving for a perfect K/D ratio. However, this week, I gained new inspiration from within the Battlefield 6 community. A player known as ThatFriendlyGuy has gained recognition for his unbelievable medic stats and unwavering dedication to getting his fellow soldiers back on their feet. As this 10/22 article from PCGAMER.com details, ThatFriendlyGuy has amassed a mighty 1 million career score and 5,077 revives with only eight kills to his record. That’s a remarkable accomplishment, especially given that the game has only been out for a few weeks. If this doesn't serve as the ultimate inspiration for me as a medic, then I don't know what will! If you’d like to see ThatFriendlyGuy in action, check out his Twitch Channel here: https://www.twitch.tv/thatfriendlyguy

This week, I successfully executed 1,057 revives, bringing my total revive count to 1,529. That's more than double the amount of revives from week one, and has brought me to a whopping 30.5% of the way towards my goal of 5,000 revives! My stats further show that I reached a new career best of 61 single-match revives -- more on that later -- and a career-high of 68 single-match savior kills. Sometimes, playing the medic role can feel like a thankless job, especially when your kill count and objective scores sit on the low end of the totem pole at the expense of reviving your teammates. But stepping back to look at the bigger picture really helps put things into perspective and reminds me that playing this role not only makes the game better for me, but for other players too. Lying on the battlefield and watching your teammates choose not to revive you can be a frustrating feeling, so I aim to always be the guy you can count on to run through gunfire to bring you back into the fight!

M.O.B.G. Only In Battlefield Moment of the Week: An Epic Stand

I don't know what it is about New Sobek City that my most memorable Battlefield 6 moments keep happening here, but I'll take whatever I can get! During a match of Breakthrough, following a failed attempt to hold off the attacking team from taking sector one, a mid-sized group of soldiers and I moved to the hill that sits between the sector borders and the objective chokepoints. If you've played Breakthrough on this map as an attacker, you've likely been on the receiving end of a sniper shot coming from this hill during the sector one siege. This hill is an important strategic point for the attacking team, because if they can take it, they gain a strategic positional advantage that allows them to easily advance to sector 2's objective points.

However, my team wasn't about to let that happen. We planted our flag on that hill and went to work, holding off a fierce advance that saw the attacking team throw everything they had at us. For my part, I decided to stay low, opting not to take part in the firefight to focus on keeping my team of eight soldiers on their feet. It was here that I executed the majority of my revives for that match, and played a large part in my reaching a new career best of 61 successful recusitations. This reminded me of a mission in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, where Soap, Captain Price, and two other TF141 soldiers use smoke bombs and strategic positioning to give the small army of enemies hunting them down the illusion that they were a much bigger force than they actually were. I like to think that reviving my mid-sized team of soldiers from the shadows during this epic standoff created that same illusion for the attacking team, forcing them to believe that our team of eight was actually a team of 20-30 soldiers acting as an impenetrable wall they would fail to break through.

It was also here that I achieved my best single-match KD ratio for the week -- so an epic experience on two fronts!

Onwards and Upwards

Similarly to last week, things are looking up! With Season 1 on the horizon and the battle royale mode not far behind, there's plenty of Battlefield 6 content in the pipeline to be excited about. Though I do find myself a little hesitant to jump into that new content, not because I don't think it'll be good, but because I'm just having THAT much fun in the Breakthrough game mode. Where other game modes see players attacking the map in somewhat random fashion, Breakthrough's sector-based design forces players to advance gradually as one unit, making it easier for medics to provide consistent support. In any case, I feel like I've gotten my feet wet as a medic, and I'm feeling optimistic about reaching my goal of 5,000 revives sooner than expected!

UPDATE #1

10/17/25

The road to medic glory begins here! My ultimate goal in Battlefield 6? To become the greatest support medic the game has ever seen. To quantify that goal, I'll be aiming to perform 5,000 revives on the battlefield, a high bar that demands top-shelf medic skills. In addition to tracking my medic stats, I'll also be detailing my progress towards challenges, rankings, and highlighting my "Only in Battlefield moment of the week". So, let's get into it!

Revive Status - Off To A Hot Start!

During the first week of Battlefield 6's launch, the player base seemed to be divided on how well we medics are handling our all-important role. See IGN reporter Michael Cripe's recent piece detailing how players have resorted to using the repair tool to beg for revives as evidence of this issue. As the article points out, reviving downed teammates is hard work. Regardless, it's work that has to be done if your team is to succeed, which is why I've dedicated my Battlefield 6 career to becoming a medic who can truly change the game.

I've taken my first week with Battlefield 6 to learn the ropes -- to get familiar with the basics of reviving downed teammates in the heat of battle. At the start, I was pretty much dying every time I went to revive someone, as trying to get to my downed teammate in time was constantly met with a panic-induced scramble that would leave me exposed. However, as the week went on, I slowly became more tactical in my approach. I began to better discern which revives were possible and which weren't, resulting in me being able to save more lives rather than continuing to needlessly sacrifice my own. As a result, I saw my revive numbers quickly go up. This week, I averaged 30 revives per match, saw a peak revive count of 34, and capped my total revive count at 472 -- meaning, I'm 9.4% of the way towards my ultimate goal of 5,000 revives!

Stats and Progress - Climbing the Ladder

At the time of writing, I'm currently sitting at rank 17 -- not bad for the first week! However, the downside is that until I get to rank 20, my revives won't count towards any of the class challenges. I'm confident that by the next update, I'll have support challenge updates to report, but for now, I'll stick to reviving for the love of getting my teammates back on their feet. As for unit challenges, given that I spent most of time time playing Breakthrough, I was able to easily stamp a completion on that contest.

When it comes to my current loadout, that too is hampered by my current ineligibility to participate in class challenges, so I'm locked out of some of the more premium tools designed for more efficient medic gameplay. I'll be sure to report back on my progress on that front, but for now, here's what I'm rolling into battle with!

Given my dedication to the medic class, I'm primarily focused on reviving, and as a result, my KD ratio is a secondary factor. However, that doesn't mean I don't help push the advance when my team needs me to. So, I've highlighted the round that saw my best KD ratio for the week below:

M.O.B.G. Only In Battlefield Moment of the Week - Down to the Wire

As I come to grips with the explosive experience that is Battlefield 6 during this first week of launch, everything has felt like a big moment. However, there was one moment that stood above the rest -- one that cemented the fact that when a team works together in harmony, they can achieve anything. During a match of Breakthrough on the New Sobek city map, my team was closing in on taking both points in sector 2, but our numbers were depleting faster than we could keep up with. But just as our numbers were dwindling to single digits, we collectively moved to take the final chokehold needed to advance. When the enemy team began mowing us down in droves, the medics stepped up to revive our teammates just as quickly as they were falling, preventing the troop count from being reduced to zero. With just 12 soldiers remaining, we took the last remaining chokepoint and moved to the final sector. The decisive advance would go on to play out in the same way, but this time, we clutched the win with only four troops remaining. It doesn't get any closer to the wire than that!

Onwards and Upwards

With week one in the books, I'm happy to report that meaningful progress was made towards becoming the game's top medic.. As I work to improve my skills and unlock more useful medic tools, I'm confident that I'll be able to change the game every time I hit the battlefield. Stay tuned for future updates and more Battlefield 6 fun!
