BATTLEFIELD 6 - ROAD TO BECOMING the top medic
UPDATE #1
The road to medic glory begins here! My ultimate goal in Battlefield 6? To become the greatest support medic the game has ever seen. To quantify that goal, I'll be aiming to perform 5,000 revives on the battlefield, a high bar that demands top-shelf medic skills. In addition to tracking my medic stats, I'll also be detailing my progress towards challenges, rankings, and highlighting my "Only in Battlefield moment of the week". So, let's get into it!
Revive Status - Off To A Hot Start!
During the first week of Battlefield 6's launch, the player base seemed to be divided on how well we medics are handling our all-important role. See IGN reporter Michael Cripe's recent piece detailing how players have resorted to using the repair tool to beg for revives as evidence of this issue. As the article points out, reviving downed teammates is hard work. Regardless, it's work that has to be done if your team is to succeed, which is why I've dedicated my Battlefield 6 career to becoming a medic who can truly change the game.
I've taken my first week with Battlefield 6 to learn the ropes -- to get familiar with the basics of reviving downed teammates in the heat of battle. At the start, I was pretty much dying every time I went to revive someone, as trying to get to my downed teammate in time was constantly met with a panic-induced scramble that would leave me exposed. However, as the week went on, I slowly became more tactical in my approach. I began to better discern which revives were possible and which weren't, resulting in me being able to save more lives rather than continuing to needlessly sacrifice my own. As a result, I saw my revive numbers quickly go up. This week, I averaged 30 revives per match, saw a peak revive count of 34, and capped my total revive count at 472 -- meaning, I'm 9.4% of the way towards my ultimate goal of 5,000 revives!
Stats and Progress - Climbing the Ladder
At the time of writing, I'm currently sitting at rank 17 -- not bad for the first week! However, the downside is that until I get to rank 20, my revives won't count towards any of the class challenges. I'm confident that by the next update, I'll have support challenge updates to report, but for now, I'll stick to reviving for the love of getting my teammates back on their feet. As for unit challenges, given that I spent most of time time playing Breakthrough, I was able to easily stamp a completion on that contest.
When it comes to my current loadout, that too is hampered by my current ineligibility to participate in class challenges, so I'm locked out of some of the more premium tools designed for more efficient medic gameplay. I'll be sure to report back on my progress on that front, but for now, here's what I'm rolling into battle with!
Given my dedication to the medic class, I'm primarily focused on reviving, and as a result, my KD ratio is a secondary factor. However, that doesn't mean I don't help push the advance when my team needs me to. So, I've highlighted the round that saw my best KD ratio for the week below:
M.O.B.G. Only In Battlefield Moment of the Week - Down to the Wire
As I come to grips with the explosive experience that is Battlefield 6 during this first week of launch, everything has felt like a big moment. However, there was one moment that stood above the rest -- one that cemented the fact that when a team works together in harmony, they can achieve anything. During a match of Breakthrough on the New Sobek city map, my team was closing in on taking both points in sector 2, but our numbers were depleting faster than we could keep up with. But just as our numbers were dwindling to single digits, we collectively moved to take the final chokehold needed to advance. When the enemy team began mowing us down in droves, the medics stepped up to revive our teammates just as quickly as they were falling, preventing the troop count from being reduced to zero. With just 12 soldiers remaining, we took the last remaining chokepoint and moved to the final sector. The decisive advance would go on to play out in the same way, but this time, we clutched the win with only four troops remaining. It doesn't get any closer to the wire than that!
Onwards and Upwards
With week one in the books, I'm happy to report that meaningful progress was made towards becoming the game's top medic.. As I work to improve my skills and unlock more useful medic tools, I'm confident that I'll be able to change the game every time I hit the battlefield. Stay tuned for future updates and more Battlefield 6 fun!
